But for the price you pay, you can have more control over your blog. You also get to have your own domain name. However, if you are not a technologically minded person, self-hosted blogs may be a little difficult for you but after a while you will surely get the hang of it.
2. Select a niche topic. A niche topic means a specific topic where you will specialize in. Making money blogging will be difficult if you will write on varied topics in one blog. You may have different people visiting your blogs but they may not be loyal readers. Making money blogging becomes more feasible if you have a loyal set of readers. They are the ones who go back to your blog regularly because of the certain interest they have for the topic that you write about. They make your blog traffic heavy. This is what most, if not all, newbie marketing or advertisers like. Your topic should be something that you are also interested in or you are very familiar with. It should be something that you can write about over and over again without repeating yourself. You can also choose to write about popular topics. Popular topics are those that a lot of people read. But if you insist, just make sure to find something missing in their blogs and fill in that gap in yours.
3. Blog frequently and write interesting posts. Your posts must not be far in between because you will lose your readers. Making money blogging will become easy if you post a lot because the more posts you write, the higher your chances of being viewed. For advertisers, more views mean more exposure. And more exposure means more chances of sales.
4. Take time to promote your blog. You can start by asking your friends to visit your blog. You can also post a link in your social network account so other can easily access it. And once you have posted a few blogs, start connecting with other blogs related to yours.
5. Create relations with your readers. Always have them in mind when you write. When you receive comments from them, try to give a reply. This will make them feel they are connected to you in a more personal way.
