As you surf the web on a daily basis, you will come across dozens of blogs, all of which are only a tiny fraction of the ones that exist online. You probably read several and you might even have one of your own. If so, you might want to look into how you can make money blogging. With a little work, you can make a profit while having fun at the same time.

The most obvious technique for using a blog to get cash is to get paid directly for what you write. If you are skilled with words and are open to freelance writing, there can be several options available. People are usually looking for bloggers to post on a certain subject as a method of marketing, and will pay a certain fee per day or week, or even for each new post.

The goal of blogging for direct pay is almost always to get as many people to a certain web page or site as possible. Along with basic writing and editing skills, you will also need to use other specific tools when blogging for a third party. A blog owner won’t make money online if nobody reads his blog, so knowledge of search engine optimization, or SEO, and using keywords to get people to the blog in the first place are very important. Try to get as many website hits as possible.

As good as your writing might be, it still isn’t enough if you really want to make money from your blog.  You can try to boost your online income by having advertising on your blog. Companies like Google AdSense and Chitika will pay you, typically each month, for each click that their ads get from your visitors.  Some affiliate programs will pay you only if you help them sell products by directing one of your visitors to their sales pages.

With advertising on your blog, you can make profit writing about whatever you want. But there are several problems that might come up as well. Having excessive advertising will annoy your readers and can make your intentions look bad .

While you don’t necessarily need to know everything about SEO and advertising, your main goal is still to pull in as many visitors to your site as possible. Study a bit on using keywords that will reel people in and write in a way that will be appealing to a mass audience. You don’t need to be a great writer, just be fun and interesting.

Whether you consider yourself to be a good writer or not, you can make money blogging and have a good time doing it. The hits you get will make you feel good and the pay will make you feel even better.  Take the time to know what you’re going to write about, formulate a good advertising strategy, and you’ll be pleased with the results.
